This work has been shot during my time living in Grand Rapids, Michigan focusing on the city’s west side. I have always had an interest in spaces that appear to have just lost their function or inhabitance. Photography enables a certain approach to looking that creates both truth and importance to otherwise overlooked occurrences. My fascination lies in the stillness of these spaces that appear as if someone has just walked away from them.
